How it works

Offered in flexible formats (1 year or 2 year option) across years 10, 11 and 12. 

Available in Sport Specialty Formats whereby officiating and/or coaching 'general principles' accreditation is replaced with the respective sport-specific foundational (e.g. Level 1) accreditation.

Students assist with delivery of sport/recreation programs within their school community, such as junior sports coaching, primary school sport and officiating games or competitions.

Vocational Education and Training in Schools initiative, funded by the Queensland Government

Binnacle Training is approved as a Pre-qualified Supplier (PQS) to deliver Certificate II in Sport and Recreation (SIS20115) as a VETiS funded qualification. This qualification is also available as 'Fee for Service' - as invoiced to School.

School Requirements

HPE Teacher (Program Deliverer)

  • A current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. Find out more >
  • Sport coaching and officiating experience

School Programs

  • Access to programs, games or competitions where students will assist as coaches or officials.

Partial Completion Program

This course is also offered as a partial completion program.
